Idiopathic, Interstitial Edema Help

You may experience abdominal swelling which can occur overnight. I gained four pounds overnight. Others have shared with me that their weight gain was 12, 17 and 23 pounds of fluid!

If you have ever been called fat as I was by some doctor in the past, you have to wonder why they don't wish to see that this is not normal and is obviously edema. I asked one doctor it was possible that I never had cellulite but when I went to bed I had none but upon awakening I had cellulite on my upper thighs and my abdomen was extremely distended? How do you gain four pounds overnight? Too many cookies maybe?!! Amazing.

Itching with or without hives due to the toxins spilling from the intracellular to the extracellular space. This only happens a few times a year now and I have Atarax for the itching (which I rarely have to take now) and use a prescription cortisone cream which helps almost immediately. Itching and hives can be systemic or isolated to back or some part of my hand or leg, anywhere. Medication makes this happen much less frequently.

Itching and hives are common with disorder as toxins spill from intracellular space to extracellular space.

Affects the peripheral vascular system and temperature regulation. This occurred in a lesser form in childhood and then became more dramatic after one doctor had me on too many supplements. In childhood when I played outside in winter my legs or walked a lot my legs got very itchy. As soon as I came into the warm house, my legs would turn very red and hot. This alone can sound like Raynaud's Syndrome but I know it is part of this disorder of the hypofunctioning of the Sympathetic Nervous System. Be careful with too many supplements/meds as your body cannot get rid of the toxins as efficiently as it should.

Since I am on Dexedrine (as well as when I took Adderal) these more severe and painful peripheral vascular symptoms have subsided. Now I have just very red hands and or feet when warm, and when cold my hands no longer blanch white like this. It was freaky the first time it happened. It was quite painful and I did not know what to do to get the blood back into my hand. I tried very warm water and it was not helping the situation. I thought I was going to the ER. I learned to place my hand in very warm water followed by cold water to get the circulation back in. I don't miss this at all! ;-)
